Selena
She was singer performer designer and broke down barriers in the world of music. She was at once an American-Mexican traditional star who bound together both realms of music in an unison way. And she delivered incredible Tejano music to a mainstream crowd. In the same way that many people mourn a star who has died far from their prime, the death of her was premature and destroyed an energizing career. Her fans have worked even harder in an effort to keep in mind what she's achieved. Selena was the Tejano artist who was tragically killed in a shooting accident, has sparked a Latino reaction that could be likened to the reaction to Elvis Presley's and John Lennon's death. She was an incredibly popular singer among Latinos in North America. But her songs touched the hearts of both young and old. Selena might have been described by many as an Latina Madonna, however she's still an excellent example to follow. Selena's family values off stage and her participation in AIDS awareness campaigns are exemplary.
